The Artemisia Institute has four thematic research streams that guide our programming.

These streams are:

wild & wayward:
investigating issues related to urban wildlife and ecologies

landscape literacy:
learning to read environments, ecological succession, critical natural histories

migrations & mobilities:
flyways and migration routes, movement of disease, mobilities of ideas

mediated natures:
interrogating the effects of technology on the so-called natural world

specific events include a critical natural history walks, queer birding group, critical ecologies research guild, juried group art exhibitions, weaving workshops, and other projects.
